Mallorca delivered the goods for a second year in a row for Buzz and their bees.
In this north eastern corner of the island we brought together people from around the globe who endeavour to spread the Buzz message; this year it was Canadians, Tassies, Dutch, Finnish, French and British.
With the Buzz swarm dotted all over the world during the month of May in Mallorca it was bee-rilliant to come together and enjoy the sunshine and each others’ company sharing our enjoyment for swimming, cycling and running. And, of course, time to sit by the pool as it was a holiday after all!
Alongside our passion for one, two or three of the triathlon disciplines we all share a love for coffee, cake and ice cream!
Members of the Morzine tri club, Tri Montagne, also came out to train en masse for the Rapperswill-Jona 70.3, which is held at the beginning of June each year.
The hotel is facilitated to support cyclists and triathletes so we enjoyed the use of the outdoor 25m pool for swim training sessions whilst also only being a stone’s throw away from the seashore for pre-breakfast open water swim sessions.
On the bikes, the swarm was guided around the island on new routes and adventures whilst also revisiting some of the classics such as Sa Calobra, Cap de Formentor and Puig Major.
Personal bests were smashed on a daily basis whether it was a section cycled previously or riding the longest, hilliest ride of your cycling career. The scenery provided a stunning backdrop as we pedaled around exploring.
A brief each morning was very much a ‘brief’ for who knew whether that promised tailwind would actually come true or whether today’s ‘flat’ ride would actually be a little more undulating than for which you had mentally prepared. It all added to the excitement and adventure of a day out on the bike with Joe. Needless to say the rides were meticulously planned so that all cyclists could come along regardless of ability and alternatives were always provided to make sure everyone was included.
Run sessions are structured to everyone’s goals and strengths with Amelia at the heart of the session providing feedback and encouragement. We ran by the sea, along tracks and straight off the bike.
With the Buzz team’s guidance, everyone became stronger and fitter, sun-kissed and relaxed and bee-ing the best they could be!
Over four weeks in Port de Pollença the Buzz swarm managed to (roughly!)
and consume many, many coffees, cakes and ice creams as well as tucking in to the outstanding hotel buffet morning and night to fuel their sporting adventures.
What a fantastic effort! We hope this may tempt you to come and join us next year!
