Ironman Preparation Camp

Our training camps are designed to give your training a boost. A boost in volume and intensity, but also a boost to your knowledge and your skills.

Attending our Ironman preparation camp in Morzine is a chance for you to focus entirely on your training for the long distance triathlon challenge and by the end of our camp you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to continue your preparations and be ready to execute your best performance.

Our Ironman camp aims to inspire you with the impressive scenery around Morzine. All levels of experience are catered for and we adapt the schedule and training sessions accordingly so that everyone feels included and accommodated.

Our schedule is designed for and delivered to anyone preparing for a long course triathlon.

Coaches on Camp

We have a great team of coaches based in Morzine. You’ll get friendly, expert advice, local knowledge and great support.

Our head coach, Amelia Pearson, is a former professional triathlete and raced sprint through to Ironman distance at the top level. She has multiple podium finishes in Ironman and her personal best time is 9 hours, 36 minutes.

She is an Australian trained, French accredited accomplished coach and ready to share her passion, knowledge and skills with you.

What to Expect

The Ironman preparation camp program offers a balance of swim, bike and run sessions with a maximum of three sessions a day, which include a strength and conditioning or yoga session to support your training. The distances and intensities reflect the training load required to complete an Ironman.

Swims include technical sessions in the local pool and the opportunity to focus on open water skills at Lac de Montriond.

Bike routes are planned to focus on different components of riding, maximising efficiency. These include challenging hill climbs to explore this area of the Alps.

Runs avoid busy roads and include non-technical trails focusing on technique and skills.

You will have the chance to practise running off the bike, and this includes some advice on transitions.

Each day we host a workshop, discussing topics addressed in our training sessions as well as nutrition, hydration & equipment.

Along the way, we can answer any questions and share our experiences.

  • Bike: Col du Corbier & Trechauffee, 70km & 1500m+

  • Training Fundamentals

  • Swim: Lake, 45mins
  • Run: Dereches river trails, 60mins
  • Strength & Conditioning 60mins

Coaching Focus:

  • Open water skills

  • Stability & mobility

Workshop:

  • Swimming Technique

Training:

  • Bike: Col de Joux Verte & Mt Caly, 60km & 1600m+
  • Run: Mont Caly altitude trail run, 5 or 10km

Coaching Focus:

  • Nutrition
  • Running off the bike

Workshop:

  • Bike set up
  • Pedalling technique

Training:

  • Swim: Pool, 60mins
  • Bike: Col de la Ramaz & Encranaz, 90km & 2200m+

Coaching Focus:

  • Technique & speed in the water
  • Gearing

Workshop:

  • Running off the bike

Training:

  • Swim: Lake, 3.8km
  • Run: Lake Montriond Circuit, 75mins
  • Yoga: 60mins

Coaching Focus:

  • Open water skills
  • Pacing
  • Mobility

Workshop:

  • Race Strategies, Pacing, nutrition, hydration

Training:

  • Bike: Col de Joux Plane, 55km & 1369m+ (optional extra 22km)
  • Run: Nyon trail run, 30mins to 2 hours
