Morzine has an abundance of great training facilities and areas. We first fell in love with the place in 2005 when Amelia was racing with the Division 1 Triathlon GP Team, Cesson Sevigne. Some of the team completed a training block in Morzine to prepare for the iconic Embrum Triathlon. Read on and you’ll understand why.

The pool is a modern, first class facility. Indoor is a 25m pool and outside a 50m. In summer you can switch between the 2 to focus on skills, speed and endurance. We arrange private lane hire for our groups, so you don’t have to worry about getting pool time and space. For open water swimming, Lac Montriond is a world class venue. It is 1500m long and 300m wide which allows many opportunities to develop your open water swim skills. The scenery is amazing too.

There are many ccyling options, with so many positive outcomes. We enjoy a combination of the challenging cols and the rolling countryside. Generally, roads are quiet and well maintained and there a plenty of fountains along the way for refilling drink bottles and we have a few favourite stops for coffee and snack breaks.

The running options along the River Dranse are plentiful. It’s a brilliant loop from Montriond to the pool and return, plus you can continue further past Cascade de Nyon or towards St Jean D’Aulps in the other direction. Around Lac Montriond is another perfect location for running. You can run around the lake and never get sick of the view.

In addition to that, Mt Chery provides us with the experience for a high altitude run. At 1500m there is a stunning trail from Mt Chery to Mt Caly and return. We often ride our bikes to the top, have someone meet us there with our run shoes and complete a brick session.

And if that wasn’t enough, and now that Morzine is our home, new in 2021, The Hive is your one stop shop, for all your triathlon training needs. There is access the brand new gym and studio with treadmills and bikes, a bike mechanic and every triathlete’s favourite place, a cafe. Plus many of our Buzz training sessions meet here too.

Why cycle indoors?

Indoor cycling in the Alps is not a common thing. But in the bike crazy town of Morzine, it is no surprise that cycling classes with us are so popular. In particular over the winter months, when the roads are (hopefully!) snowy, and locals spend their time nurturing their winter…
