We chose Morzine as our home for Buzz because throughout our sporting travels we hadn’t found anywhere else quite like it. The town has a relaxed and spacious feel, with gorgeous chalets, alpine trees and mountains all around. In the summer, it’s decked out with hanging baskets of flowers and is picture perfect.
We enjoy enjoy going for a coffee at Beanies or Satellite, brunch at Marmotte D’or, a drink at Bec Jaune or the Cavern.
The facilities for training and exercise are second to none. The Olympic size outdoor pool and 25m indoor pool was a huge drawcard. Lac Montriond & Lac Les Gets are stunning locations as well as many other beauties we have discovered during our explorations.
Then there are 12 tennis courts, a skate board park, an indoor ice skating rink, summer luge, ski lifts that run in the summer for walkers & bikers and a whole range of other activities if you’re looking for something else to do.
The situation of Morzine also makes it an ideal base for exploring the greater Portes du Soleil area. Within an hours drive and well worth a visit is the beautiful town of Annecy, the medieval town of Yvoire on the shore of Lake Geneva, the thermal springs at Lavey Les Bains and Chamonix where a trip up the Aiguille Du Midi is a must.
